K&YA
features nationally recognized designers
that bring their unique knowledge, visions, and projects to our
workshops.
Over the years we have had some great knitting experiences and classes focusing on cables, lace, intarsia and fair isle, lessons in sizing and color theory... the list goes on!
Susan Mills, Design Director for Classic Elite Yarns, joins us for the 5th year in a row! We are fortunate to have such an amazing designer in our midst. Every year Susan brings projects that are technique focused and project based such as mittens, scarves, and hats in combinations of lace, cables, and textures. The beauty of her classes are that they are suitable for not only the novice knitter but the most advanced as well because they feature endless variations and combinations through charts, graphs, and text. With Susan's guidance, we've learned how to create our own designs and patterns through texture and color combinations.
And if that wasn't enough, Susan always delights us with loads of wonderful yarn to experience and enjoy! We get to hear and see the latest news straight from the industry front and have even enjoyed watching a Classic Elite photo shoot for the 2011 lines!
Cathy Payson, Design Director of Reynolds, JCA, joined us on our 2010 Monhegan Island Adventure and what a delight she was! Cathy is well recognized in the handknitting world for her beautiful textural patterns geared towards real women. Her designs are classic, inspiring, and easy to knit to fit all varieties of shapes and sizes.
Her work can now be seen on virtually every knit shop shelf in pattern books for the likes of Nashua Handknits as well as Classic Elite and Reynolds. She is also a frequent contributor to Interweave Knits. Over the years, Cathy has worked with Aarlan, Classic Elite Yarns, and Susan Bristol.
