Lisa has become known in the Needle Arts industry for her inspired and colorful knitted designs.
Her work pushes the edge of traditional color knitting styles like intarsia, fair isle and striping techniques. Drawing from natural forms as well as modern patterns, Lisa creates new and unexpected knitting designs that are fresh and exciting to knitters interested in exploring the world of color knitting. She will work with those attending the retreat on developing their color knitting skills and explore the basics elements and principles of design and how to draw upon the inspiration of the surroundings to create new works of art.

In 2001, Lisa launched her unique designs to the Needle Arts industry and until recently her backpack, tote, and handbag kits were only available from knitting retailers throughout the US and Canada. K&YA will now be the exclusive source for the LB Evans Handknits knitting kits which will be included as the class project for every Knitting and Yoga Adventure retreat.
Knitters will select their project from a featured group of designs according to their own tastes and skill level. Workshops will continue to explore color work knitting techniques such as intarsia, fair isle and striping techniques, but knitters will focus on the technique they most prefer.
The LB Evans Handknits kits are structured knitted handbags that are both beautiful and classic shapes and will endure the changing fashions. Every backpack, tote, and handbag features a finely crafted leather or Italian pig suede top with an attached lining which creates a 'structured' knitted bag. The lining and top completely support the contents of the handbag allowing the knitting to remain beautiful and intact throughout years of use. All leather and suede used in the kits is of the highest quality and the workmanship is superb. These kits also feature Rowan and Nashua yarns.
